Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District has grant support from the Minnesota Lawns to Legumes program to enhance pollinator habitat near the St. Croix River in Marine on St. Croix.
The goal is to improve habitat for monarch butterflies, rusty patched bumblebees, and other pollinator species, and reduce runoff pollution to the river.
During the info session we will discuss:
Native Garden Pocket Plantings
Bee Lawn
Flowering Trees and Shrubs
Pollinator Meadows
Grant funding is available to support approximately 20 planting projects. For this project, Washington Conservation District staff will also help landowners to create a garden design, find native plants and materials for the project, and develop a long-term maintenance plan.
