Basswood (Tilia americana)
A stately and well formed deciduous tree with large heart-shaped leaves, a clean, straight trunk, and a broad, rounded crown. Has a medium growth rate and reaches a mature height of 60-80 ft. This tree prefers full sun and grows in a variety of soils, is drought and air pollution tolerant, has greenish-white flowers in late May, has green seed pods that persist through winter, and makes a good shade tree. Sold in a bundle of 25 bare root seedlings, 12-18" tall.
This item will be shipped to the Washington County Fairgrounds, not to your address. Trees must be picked up on either April 26th or 27th at the fairgrounds. You will receive a postcard with detailed information about pick up in the spring and it will be updated on the website as well.
