Common Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana)
A small tree or shrub with a fast growth rate and reaches a mature height of 15-20 ft. This small tree or shrub prefers full sun to partial shade and loamy, well-drained soils, has white flowers in the spring, has edible fruit that ripens in July and August, and provides food and cover for wildlife. Common Chokecherry can grow as a small tree or as a large shrub; large colonies can form due to root suckers. Sold in a bundle of 25 bare root seedlings, 12-18" tall.
