Creating a "Nedible" Garden

  • Growth for Good Community Garden 1901 4th Avenue Newport, MN, 55055 United States (map)

Native plants + Edible Plants = A “Nedible” Garden

You’re probably familiar with the benefits of native plants. Native plants provide food and habitat for wildlife, birds, and pollinators and are well adapted to our Minnesota climate. But, native plants are also a great addition to your fruit, herb, and vegetable gardens. They attract pollinators and beneficial predator insects that help to keep pests in check, and require minimal care to look good.

Take a tour of the “Growth for Good” Community Garden in Newport while Angie Hong talks about the benefits of native plants and offers suggestions for incorporating native plants into your existing gardens and landscaping.
