NEIGHBORHOOD POND DIPPING
East Metro Watershed educators will team-up with City Cottage Grove staff to host a family-friendly event to explore and learn more about our local ponds. Discover natural plants and the role these plants play in providing habitat and filtering pollution from our waters. We’ll also use dip nets to get a closer look at the tiny critters – or macroinvertebrates – that are living in the lake. These tiny creatures can tell us something about how clean the lake is. It will be an easy walk, participants should wear outdoor and pond muck friendly shoes and clothes. There is no prior registration required. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
