Aquatic Invasive Species Workshop - Scandia

Location: Scandia Community Center 14727 209th St. N.

On Saturday, March 15, 9-11am, the Comfort Lake – Forest Lake Watershed District, Carnelian – Marine – St. Croix Watershed District, and Chisago County will host a free workshop on aquatic invasive species at the Scandia Community Center. Get updated on the latest research and survey data about aquatic invasives in area lakes, including where invasives have been found, the extent of infestations, and the status of various measures being used to control these invasives. We will also practice identifying common native and invasive aquatic plants and animals, and will talk about a boat launch retrofit on Lake Minnetonka that has helped to dramatically increase the number of lake users following clean, drain and dispose laws.

This workshop is free and open to the public, but please register so we know how many people to expect.
