Responsibilities:  Conduct education and outreach on behalf of the East Metro Water Resource Education Program (EMWREP) and Lower St. Croix Watershed Partnership.

Education:  MS in Water Resources Science from Oregon State University; BS in geology from Texas Christian University.

Background: Barbara joined the Washington Conservation District in 2021, after serving as the communications specialist for the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory at the University of Minnesota for 6 years. A hydrologist by training, her 'evolution' to science communication happened gradually while working at SAFL. She first joined the team as a staff researcher in 2011, but her growing interest in being able to message science efficiently led her to become the lab communicator in 2015. She currently lives in Bayport with her husband and two girls.
